All Talk and No Walk

Apr - 6 - 2012
Bryan Sr

This subject or title for a post came to mind this past week as I was driving home from work one day. I think the title and attempted subject matter is very fitting since I write this on Good Friday. I know you may not look at this post before Easter Sunday or until after the Easter Weekend. I want to encourage you to think about what Easter is about, whether you happen across this post during the Easter Weekend or after it has already past.

There are many negative phrases that go along with ‘all talk and no walk’, such as: ‘all bark and no bite’, ‘hypocrite’, ‘full of hot air’ and so on.

The Easter weekend should give those that claim Christ as their Savior one of those great times of the year that we have that so many doors are opened to share with a lost and dying world the salvation that ONLY Christ offers.

Use this weekend to catapult your talk and your walk.  Share Christ in everything you do and say, let your walk support your talk, talk louder and stronger and walk straighter with a focus that this is not the Christian’s world, that we Christians want to bring glory to our God by faithfully working and doing everything for Him.

A couple of bible verses for encouragement:

Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”

2 Timothy 1:12, “Which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me.”

Bible verses from the English Standard Version

Thanks Bryan for the reminder that we need to live our lives by example of Christ. May God Bless you & your family this Easter weekend.

Great post. An Elder once explained it to me this way; all walk in the home, 50% talk & 50% walk at work, and all talk when given opportunity to witness to a stranger. Thanks brother for the reminder.
