I have a question for you. If I may first give a brief background of where this question is coming from.
I have a very good “cyber friend” Dave, at Hubbys Home that has recently completed an Exercise Challenge which you can read more about on his site. To briefly outline what he accomplished, he took the month of June and challenged himself to do 10,000 push ups and run a marathon, 1.5 miles a day. He had other dietary challenges associated with with his challenge. He actually surpassed his goals.
I am thinking of challenging myself to a longer term goal, not in an attempt to outdo him, but to either really hold my feet to the fire or crash and burn in a serious way as he has motivated me to do something.
I am thinking about attempting to do 100,000 sit ups, 100,000 push ups and either a running or cycling goal that is similar to 40 jogging miles a month. I am still thinking about what cycling goal to shoot for.
The reason I am not sure about jogging or cycling is that I am not sure if my back can handle running but I guess I will not know until I try. If it can not take it I can always shift over to a cycling goal.
The biggest issue I have with this goal is that I am no where close to being able to do enough push ups and sit ups to accomplish the daily required goal that it would take to accomplish the entire year’s goal. Thinking about that, I am curious if I would be able to catch up enough over the year to accomplish this total goal.
I would update the blog once a week to document my progress.
Here are the questions: Would this be of any interest to you to follow? Â Would you possibly join along the way at some point? Â Do you even think it would be possible know that I am starting way behind the curve so to say?

The idea of having a goal is great but you have to know your own capabilities. Have something realistic for yourself so you will not burn out but enough to challenge yourself! Personally, I run around 5 miles a day and it can be a stretch someways but I always feel good afterwards! So, go for it!
5 miles everyday. Girl YOU are killing me.
Way to go, keep it up.
Hi Bryan, thanks for the mention!
100,000, eh? Hmm. OUCH!!
Seriously. OUCH!!!!
100,000 of anything is going to be nearly 300 repetitions a day. Dude, I’m here to talk you out of it!
In fact, I’m going to fly over there and lock you in the cupbard under your stairs to stop you. LOL.
I love the idea of doing something like this, I’m wondering what I can do next. I’m thinking of 100 consecutive push ups. But I also like the idea of a chin-up or pull-up challenge.
I can’t wait to hear what you decide… maybe something like a body-weight exercises triathlon, or a multi-sport decathlon? You know… mix it up a bit?
Great idea though!!
I probably do need to be locked up.
I like the pull up thought, I need some work there so thanks for mentioning that.
Thanks for the thoughts here. Food for thought on what to do.
