Global Warming

I was walking around the airport in Los Angeles, California, back in late April, when I saw this picture on a pillar with the caption, “Ignoring global warming won’t make it go away”.  I stood there in the middle of the walkway for a while just staring at the picture, shaking my head in disbelief.  There were a number of people that had to walk around me, looking at me as I stood there murmuring to myself.  I guess they thought I had issues.

I am all for taking care of this earth, doing what we can, being responsible.

I am sure this picture of a young boy playing baseball with the water up to his shoulders is an attempt to pull at our heart strings.  It just did not work for me.  As I said, I stood there in the middle of the walkway, giving my opinion outload as to how silly I thought this picture and caption was.

Am I the only one that has read so many articles this year alone that have stated how much global warming has been an outright lie, that we, the public, have had forced at us for so long?  If I remember correctly this past winter was one of the worst we have had in some time.  How does gloabal warming allow this to occur?  I do agree that we can not let refineries and plants just spew out all their toxins.  There must be some control over those pollutants.  Have we gone so far that we are going to be regulated on when we are allowed to mow our grass or even have to upgrade our lawn mowers to ones that have special emission’s devices?  I sure hope not.  There are a lot of little things that we all can do on a regular basis, but personally, I do not believe the polar ice caps are going to melt away and flood the world where in turn we all die as a result.  That is just me and my thoughts on this one.

Tell me, am I not thinking or looking at the big picture?  Should I be drastically sorting all my trash to be recycled?  I really don’t think you can change my mind on this one if you have the alternative point of view, but I would love to hear what you have to say whichever way you lean.

I was finished with this post when I received an email about Disposable Kleenex Hand Towels.  My take on this is that the writer has issues with disposable products.  I have been following this person’s blog for a while and she does have a nice blog, so I don’t want to take anything away from her other writings that I have enjoyed.  This is another person that has brought up our need to conserve, which in a bigger picture comes back to global warming issues.  It must just be me not caring enough?????  There I am again, showing my sensitive side. :)

I grew up under the “fear” that we were heading into an ice age. Then it became “global warming” and we were all going to die from floods. Now it’s “Climate change”
How about………God’s in control, and the earth cycles are just that CYCLES……..geez

I highly recommend Glenn Beck’s book “An Inconvenient Book”…..or google the “scientists” that signed on to the Global Warming lie- and how they falsified, and did not incorporate data that disagreed with Al…….

I think Lemmings believe anything……and this Global Warming scare is right up there on the list

ps. IF Al REALLY believed what he “preaches”…….he should be a vegan (cow farts are #1 on the emission list)….and he wouldn’t live in ginormous houses…….

    Bryan,
I think you are spot on! Except now it is called “climate change”! My girls think it is the funniest thing that a global warming conference in recent years had to be canceled due to a blizzard! I agree with your post totally – First of all, God is in TOTAL control and we just have to take care of what He has given us — I don’t disagree with recycling but all the “green” initiatives out there drive me crazy! There is more than enough room on this earth for all of us and the landfills are not going to overtake us so I try not to get too worked up about it all.
    Again – great post!

Honestly? I don’t know what to believe. The thought of horrible things happening like the polar ice caps melting and we all die is so scary it makes me crazy! My main reasons for conservation and green living are so that others can enjoy the Earth and have natural resources (hopefully). I think we can only do so much, but we should do as much as we comfortably can. :)

With those disposable hand towels, it just sickens me because we don’t need any more disposable products :(
