I just wanted to let you know how it is going in the blogshere ranking. As you are well aware I only came back a little over a week ago and after the first post my ranking was over 15 million. Now with only a few posts and the help of you clicking on the title of those emails you receive which bring you to go to the actual blog site, the ranking is now under 10 million at the time I write this post.
You may think that this is not a major change, but I assure you that it is a very nice move. So thank you very much.
Please bring on the comments and suggestions on topics to cover and or expand on.
I will say that I am very surprised I did not receive any comments on the Beer, Bohemianism, and True Christianity post. Even if it was to agree with me, but I did think I would get some “debate” on the issue. Anyway, click on the the link in the email to take you to the site, it helps raise that traffic ranking.
A blog post was recently brought up by my pastor which is entitled: Beer, Bohemianism, and True Christian Liberty. The blog was written by John MacArthur. The above link will take you to the post which I highly encourage you to read more than once, as well as the bible references that go along with the post.
I find myself wanting to put this out into my small circle of influence as I see this same thing all to often. I could tell story after story from work related events, involving just about any and every age. I am constantly reminded of the moral decay that is out in the world and, too often, in the church. Please do not take anything I say to mean that I believe I have it all together and am living the perfect life. I know that I am a sinner saved by grace and nothing on my part contributed to Christ saving me. I know that if I were left to myself, that I would be a dredge to society, a enemy of Christ.
With that being said, I am still appalled that many who claim the name of Christ believe they can abound in sin and simply ask to be forgiven and think the sin does not affect anyone, that there are no consequences or penalty for their actions. There is more to the saying of ‘ our moral compass is off ‘, as I can point out countless broken moral compasses everyday; even those works that, apart from Christ, are filthy rags. I have wandered from the subject matter I believe, but wish to point out that I would love for you to read John MacArthur’s article and share it with others. You can even leave comments, etc.
I subscribe to a blog, War on Terror News, for obvious reasons, as my 2 oldest sons are in the Marine Corp. and this blog posts information everyday. I have found some great information from this blog over the past few years.
Today’s post was the start of a 4 part series to help, give information, to veterans to assist them in their job search. The information may not personally apply to you, but you may know someone that this information could be useful to. If you do, please forward the information to that person, with due credit to the blog, War on Terror News.
So, did the one word title to the post raise any eyebrows?
I have been endeavoring into the world of recycling for a solid 4 months now. Before you get all warm and fuzzy, thinking I am trying to save the planet, (even though I do believe we should be more conscious of our resources), it is about finding another source of income; but even better, spending more time with my youngest son as we work at this together.
I started looking for metal to sell to the various recycle locations that are all over the place. I quickly learned that you have to really shop around to find who is buying what for the best price as they vary a great deal.
We have found some crazy stuff that is still very much in working order. My son now has a 60″ Sony flat screen T.V. in his bedroom that we found on the curb.
We did knock on the door to make sure they were putting it out to be thrown away. The owner advised us that it worked, but they had a newer one now so they didn’t need 2 of them. We happily took it off their hands.
We could probably start a bicycle shop with the number of bicycles that we recover. The majority of them are in seriously bad shape, but there are a large number that could at least be used for parts. This goes for lawn equipment also. I currently have a least 25 vacuum cleaners in the back yard that need to be taken apart for their various types of metal and copper wiring. If anyone has an automated/automatic wire stripper let me know. Maybe we can work out a deal.
If you just happen to live near by me and are getting rid of any metal, let me know. If you happen to go to the same church as I do, you can always just throw it in the back of my truck. What a nice surprise that would be.
Here is a recent picture of a haul…. Just another day at the office.
For those that may not know all the ends and outs of how to help someone who is writing a blog. I would like to give a little information that I am aware of that helps the one writing. For those receiving the blog by email, it helps to go to the blog site by clicking on the title of the post you receive in your email then read the post on the actual site rather then from the email you receive. Traffic to the actual site is a good thing.
Then it helps to leave a comment on the post that you read. Normally if you have never left a comment, then the first time it will have to be approved, after that you are typically able to leave comments that go through without being moderated.
Then it is helpful to share a post through other social media such as Facebook and Twitter. You can usually just click on the appropriate button and it then does the work for you, so to say.
I know I have only shared a few things, but if you know other ways that help, please do not be bashful and share you knowledge with me by leaving your comments so I and others can learn more on this.
